Dubai calling

“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature…. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”

Helen Keller

More than one month has gone by since our last post. A lot happened during this month and so we decided to share with you guys some news on our status.

As you probably remember, I arrived in Dubai on the 2nd of September. The first weeks were terrible and I had a hard time adjusting to so many changes. I missed my space and my family a lot. Finally, on the third week, I began to settle in and things started to feel a bit easier.

During this time, Rodrigo never ceased to answer emails and sending CVs to companies here in Dubai and I thank him for that.

After a couple of weeks more, he finally arrived in Dubai. One month had gone by since the last time we saw each other and my happiness was beyond words. I couldn’t believe it was his face I was seeing in the reception lobby, waiting for me.

We had a really good time during the days Rodrigo was here. I was able to take him to my favorite places in the city and together we discovered many more cool new places and we had a lot of fun being us again. Also during those days, Rodrigo was able to book two interviews in two different companies.

BUT THE IMPORTANT QUESTION IS THE FOLLOWING: DID RODRIGO GET THE JOB?

Well, what do you think?

Really, really in your guts..

Do you think we worked hard enough?

Maybe so, maybe no!

Let’s see… What about: YES!!!! HE GOT THE JOB!

He’s moving in December and we are finally going to start our lifes together  like it is supposed to be!

So the lesson learnt after all these posts, shares and pieces of news is that : some things in life are worth fighting for. We decided to fight for our happiness and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome!

Thank you all for being present and helpful. We couldn’t have done it without you all <3

Much much love,

Sara (& Rodrigo!)

THANK YOU ALL but where to sleep in Dubai?

Hello!

Since our last post, we’ve had a lot more contacts and people interested in our story, so thank you for sharing it and for getting in touch with your friends. It has been worthy!

Nevertheless, Rodrigo is going to Dubai in October and he still has free agenda to book a lot of interviews and to hand out resumés personally, so if you haven’t speak with all of your contacts about our story, please do, this is your opportunity! We need to keep on sharing!

Also about Rodrigo’s visit in October, he will need to find an hotel room for the first night. So if you know a place in which he can crash with a good quality/price that you can recommend to us, we would be grateful.

Thanks again for all the support and don’t forget to drop us a line in case you have any advice.

Love,

Sara

Tips for packing NEEDED!

Hello all,

Firstly I would like to thank you for all the shares and tweets you’ve been doing. You’re amazing!

The website is now mostly read in Portugal and…. in the UAE! So this was a bit of a win for us, thanks to all of you.

As we said on the first post, Rodrigo is coming to Dubai in the begining of October so for now the challenge is to keep on finding contacts so that he can schedule interviews while he’s there. Once again, we count with your help!

Moving on to another topic: today I have oficially started packing! YEAY! The question now is: how do I fit my life in a suitcase?

This suitcase?

If you have any piece of advice or any strange technique that you usually use, please don’t hesitate to drop me a line, I would be super grateful!

For now, the technique that I am using is an old one but the most effective that I know of: ROLLING! I am pretty much rolling everything: towels, sheets, trousers, t-shirts. Big rolls, small rolls, medium rolls, it doesn’t matter as long I keep on rolling! It really saves you a lot of space in the lugagge and apart from that you can assemble everything like a Lego. So good luck for me on this task.

I look forward for your ideas and of course your shares and contacts.

Rodrigo doesn’t want to be left behind!

Hugs,

Sara
